Making Store-Wide Postage Changes

Making Store-Wide Postage Changes

Sometimes postage prices and delivery times change and you need to update all your listings. To avoid updating each listing individually, you can update all - or selected - postage options for all your active listings at once.

Navigate to the Postage & Handling Details page in your store setup. Then:

  1. Select the 'Update Active Items' tab at the top of the page

  2. Tick the checkbox next to each postage option you wish to update

  3. Enter the updated postage price for each selected postage option. If you want to remove a postage option, delete all values rather than entering zeros. If you want to offer free postage, enter a 0.

  4. Enter the updated 'additional item price' for each selected postage option. This is the postage amount charged for subsequent items if a customer buys more than one item at a time. If you want to charge the full postage price for each item, leave this field blank. If you want to charge a flat postage price regardless of how many items are ordered (eg. $8.95 flat rate whether customer buys 1 bottle or 8 bottles) then enter a 0 in this field. In the example shown below an international customer would be charged $5 standard postage if they ordered 1 item, $6 postage for two items, $7 postage for 3 items and so on. If they chose Express post they'd be charged $9 postage no matter how many items they ordered.

  5. From the drop-down menu, choose the most accurate delivery time estimate

  6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 for every postage type you'd like to change. Only the selected postage options will be updated.
  7. Click the 'Update All Active Items' button at the bottom of the page. These changes will be applied to all items in your Active Items list, but you can override these on individual items on the Add/Edit item page later. If you want new items to also reflect the postage changes you need to update them on the Set Preferences page of your Postage & Handling Details.

In the example below, Standard domestic postage would no longer be offered. Australian buyers could choose between free signed delivery, or $4 Express postage on their first item, plus $1 for every additional item on their order. Standard International postage prices and delivery times would not be edited. International customers would be charged $15 for express postage, plus $3 for their second, third, and every subsequent item. They would pay $12 for registered post for 1 item, $14 for 2 items, $16 for 3 items, and so on.
